The Treasury in all its new splendour

The German Football Museum has reorganised its treasure trove of the most significant trophies and, for the first time, brought together the European Championship and World Cup trophies of the German women’s and men’s national teams in one place. The great successes of both DFB national teams form the focal point of the permanent exhibition. On display are the original winner’s trophies, which represent three European Championship and four World Cup titles for the men, as well as eight European Championship and two World Cup titles for the women. 

The outstanding achievements of the women’s and men’s national teams are the most important milestones in German football. They have not only shaped sporting developments but have also often had a profound impact on society. In this respect, the treasure trove conceals many fascinating and interesting stories of contemporary history behind the dazzling splendour of the trophies. This lends the room cultural and historical significance in addition to its distinctive aesthetic appeal.
