Frequently asked questions about the Youth Team of the Month

        • What is the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ all about?

The DFB Foundation German Football Museum gGmbH (hereinafter referred to as the “Foundation”), as the operator of the German Football Museum (hereinafter referred to as the “Museum”), will select the “Youth Team of the Month” on a monthly basis from February 2016 onwards. The decision as to which team is to be named each month is made by a jury comprising Museum staff. The jury makes its decision at its own free and unrestricted discretion. It bases its decision on the photographs uploaded by the entrants via the Museum’s website by the relevant deadline (see below). The winning team will receive a set of kits (shorts, shirt, socks) for 14 outfield players and 2 goalkeepers. Photographs of the winning team, as well as coverage of the selection process, may be exhibited by the Foundation in the museum, incorporated into a film that may be screened in the museum, and made publicly available on the museum’s website and via social media (e.g. Facebook).

        • Who is eligible to vote in the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ poll, and how often can they do so?

All youth teams (from G-Jugend to A-Jugend) from football clubs affiliated to the DFB are eligible to take part in the campaign. Each team may only apply once per calendar year.

        • Who needs to submit the application for the ‘Youth Team of the Month’, and where should it be sent?

Applications may only be submitted by a body of the association or by another adult authorised (e.g. by written or verbal power of attorney) to represent the association in the application process. Applications may only be submitted online via the museum’s website and only by entering the mandatory details provided there.

        • When is the deadline for the ‘Youth Team of the Month’?

Only those youth teams whose photos have been uploaded by the entrants by the 15th of the month before last at the latest, together with all the mandatory information required for uploading, will be included in the jury’s selection for a given month. Late entries may be considered by the jury in subsequent months.

        • What about image rights in relation to the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ feature?

The following applies to photos uploaded by each applicant: The applicant must have obtained prior permission from all persons depicted in the photos to enter the competition for ‘Youth Team of the Month’. The applicant must also have obtained permission from the photographer (if they are not the photographer themselves) and from all persons depicted in the photos for the Museum to produce prints and other reproductions of the uploaded photos, to exhibit these in the Museum for an indefinite period, use them in the aforementioned film and screen it in the museum, and make them publicly available on the museum’s website and via social media (e.g. Facebook). Where minors are depicted in the photographs, the applicant must have obtained the relevant parental consent before uploading them.

        • How is the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ announced?

The winning team will be notified by email. The set of shirts will be presented to the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ at the Football Museum on the last Thursday of the preceding month. The entire youth team and their coaches will be invited to the Football Museum on this date. On this occasion, the coaches and youth team will donate exhibits of their choice (e.g. mascots, medals, pennants, etc.) to the museum, which the museum will then display in the designated display cabinet (display cabinet dimensions: 36.5 height x 67 width x 17 cm depth).

        • What else do I need to know about the youth team of the month?

If the youth team is unable to attend the appointment, the set of shirts will be sent to the applicant by post; however, there is no entitlement to an alternative appointment. Conversely, in this case, the youth team’s club must send the exhibit for the display case to the museum by post in good time so that it reaches the museum no later than the end of the month preceding the month in which the youth team is named ‘Youth Team of the Month’ (e.g.: the exhibit for the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ for April must be received by the museum by the end of March). The applicant undertakes to hand over the set of shirts sent by post to the club for use by the selected Youth Team of the Month. The transfer of ownership of the set of shirts to the club takes place upon handover of the set to a club representative.

No claim may be made to participate in the campaign or to be selected as the Youth Team of the Month. The jury’s decision is final. Each entrant guarantees the accuracy of the details provided as part of the application, in particular their age, name, address and email address. These details will be used solely for the purposes of running the campaign and for no other purposes.

No legal recourse is available. By taking part, the entrant accepts the above terms and conditions on behalf of themselves, the club and the youth team in question.

The museum reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time and/or to suspend or terminate the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ campaign at any time.

The Foundation accepts no liability for data loss, particularly during data transmission, or for any other technical faults.
