Terms and conditions for the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ campaign

We look forward to receiving your application and are keeping our fingers crossed for you!

What is it all about?

The DFB Foundation German Football Museum gGmbH (hereinafter referred to as the “Foundation”), as the operator of the German Football Museum (hereinafter referred to as the “Museum”), will be selecting the “Youth Team of the Month” every month from February 2016 onwards. The decision as to which team is selected each month is made by a jury comprising Museum staff. The jury makes its decision at its own free and unrestricted discretion. It bases its decision on the photos uploaded by the entrants via the Museum’s website by the relevant deadline (see below). The winning team will receive a set of kits (shorts, shirt, socks) for 14 outfield players and 2 goalkeepers. Photographs of the winning team, as well as coverage of the selection process, may be exhibited by the Foundation in the museum, incorporated into a film that may be screened in the museum, and made publicly available on the museum’s website and via social media (e.g. Facebook).

Who can take part and how often?

All youth teams (G-Jugend to A-Jugend) from football clubs affiliated to the DFB are eligible to take part in the campaign. Each team may only apply once per calendar year.

Who must submit the application and where?

The application may only be submitted by an official representative of the club or another adult authorised (e.g. by written or verbal power of attorney) to represent the club in the application process. Applications can only be made online via the museum’s website and only by entering the mandatory details provided there.

Deadline

Only those youth teams whose photos have been uploaded by the applicants by the 15th of the preceding month at the latest, along with all the mandatory information required for uploading, will be considered by the jury for a particular month. Late applications may be considered by the jury in subsequent months.

Image rights

The following applies to the photos uploaded by each applicant: The applicant must have obtained prior permission from all persons depicted in the photos to enter the competition for ‘Youth Team of the Month’. The entrant must also have obtained permission from the photographer (if they are not the photographer themselves) and from all persons depicted in the photographs for the museum to produce prints and other reproductions of the uploaded photographs, to exhibit these in the museum for an unlimited period, use them in the aforementioned film and screen this film in the museum, and make them publicly available on the museum’s website and via social media (e.g. Facebook). Where minors are depicted in the photographs, the applicant must have obtained the relevant parental consent before uploading them.

Announcement of the winning team

The winning team will be notified by email. The set of shirts will be presented to the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ at the Football Museum on the last Thursday of the preceding month. The entire youth team and their coaches will be invited to the Football Museum on this date. At this event, the coaches and youth team will donate an exhibit of their choice (e.g. mascots, medals, pennants, etc.) to the museum, which the museum will display in the designated display case (display case dimensions: 36.5 height x 67 width x 17 cm depth).

If the youth team is unable to attend the event, the set of shirts will be sent to the applicant by post; however, there is no entitlement to an alternative date. Conversely, in this case, the youth team’s club must send the exhibit for the display case to the museum by post in good time so that it reaches the museum no later than the end of the month preceding the month in which the team is named ‘Youth Team of the Month’ (e.g. the exhibit for the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ for April must be received by the museum by the end of March). The applicant undertakes to hand over the set of shirts sent by post to the club for use by the selected youth team. The transfer of ownership of the set of shirts to the club takes place upon handover of the set to a club representative.

No entitlement to participation/exhibition or the use of photographs in the museum/acquisition of a set of kits

No claim may be made to participate in the campaign or to be selected as the Youth Team of the Month. The jury’s decision is final. Each applicant guarantees the accuracy of the details provided as part of the application, in particular their age, name, address and email address. These details will be used solely for the purposes of running the campaign and for no other purposes.

No legal recourse is available. By taking part, the entrant accepts the above terms and conditions on their own behalf, on behalf of the club and on behalf of the youth team concerned.

The museum reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time and/or to suspend or terminate the ‘Youth Team of the Month’ campaign at any time.

The Foundation accepts no liability for data loss, particularly during data transmission, or for other technical faults.
