FUSSBALL BILD brings football history to life
5 November to 31 December 2017
Memories of great moments in German football history are often based on original black-and-white photographs. The Brazilian artist Marina Amaral has painstakingly coloured the original images pixel by pixel, thereby bringing the past into the present. FUSSBALL BILD presented the scenes in colour for the first time as an exclusive feature and, in collaboration with the German Football Museum, organised a special exhibition.
Marina Amaral is one of the world’s leading photographic artists. “You can understand a picture better in colour,” she says. In this way, she brings football history to life. A total of ten historically significant moments from German football history were on display, such as Fritz Walter being carried on the shoulders of the crowd after the 1954 World Cup final.
At the opening of the special exhibition, museum visitors were able to see BVB managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke in person during a panel discussion, amongst other things.
